More Tomatoes!

Not counting the cherry tomatoes we have 7 tomato plants. They are all taller that me. I know that is not saying much but they TOWER over me! Friday night Martha came over, not wanting to go to the rodeo with the rest of the family. She and grandpa went right to work and picked another bowl to add to our pickings of the last blog!

Then into the kitchen we went. Garry scalded and pealed, Martha pealed, and I sliced and put those juicy tomatoes into jars. What a team!

We canned 21 quarts of our own plus 6 quarts from Mom and Dad's garden. In all we have canned 34 quarts of tomatoes from those 7 mega-tomato plants. So impressed with ourselves!!! !

From the Master Gardener!

These were the second picking from our 7 tomato plants! The first picking filled only one bowl and filled 8 quart jars. Aren't these BEAUTIFUL?
I'm going to wait til Wednesday to can them because there's another bowlful just about ready and I want to can them all at once. They will be so yummy for soup and spagetti and chili! I love summer!

If you're female, two possible fates await you. You can become a grumpy old lady or an old lady laughing. And then you die. Find something to smile about every day.

My Wish came True!

For many years I have wanted my very own trampoline.

For Mother's Day my kids and Garry went together and really surprised me!

The Friday before Mother's Day Garry and I came home to Ryan, Beth, and Mary, and all their kids putting the final touches on the construction of my beautiful blue padded 11' tramp.

I can sit down and bounce back up with no problem, as you can see. As long as I use the ladies room before, I can jump and jump and jump. At first my legs tingled and itched and I had to rest.

But now I can jump for a lot longer. I love it when little Tanner wants to jump with "just grandma" and no one else. I love it when the kids come over and all pile on and laugh and play even with out me. It is one the the best gifts I have ever, ever, received. Thank you, everyone!

Sophie with Mary and Tanner and Hailey

Tanner was wrestling with Mary while Gar was working on the swing.

I love how Sophie had to snuggle into the middle of the play - so typical!

All with Miss Hailey's supervision of course!

Grandpa's Tuesday Project

Take one good strong tree . . .

Carefully screw in 4" eye bolts . . .

with wife holding the ladder . . .

Add a masterfully crafted wooden seat with the proper twisted nylon rope.

Level it all out - this takes at least 30 minutes!

Test ride - Grandpa!

Test ride - Grandma!

Approval from Mary but not from Tanner!

Most important approval of all from Hailey Karlson, herself!

Sophie Cleans up Really Nice!

This was taken last night. I can't get rid of the red eye... or gold eye!

We took her with us to The Dalles. She loves the car... prefers to sit in my lap of course but sits willingly in in the back seat. She particularly is partial to Taco Bell Mexi Fries.
This afternoon she spent an hour basking in the sun in the windy back yard. It didn't seem to bother her. Her coat is almost white on her back but her ears and tail are darker. She can't wait to meet the far-away family! She loves the kids, especially those who will sit beside her and pet and pet and pet her. She is a snuggler.
